Terms of Service

These terms apply to the MapSeek app and its online features, provided by MBG Studio ("MapSeek", "we", "us"). By using MapSeek you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

1. MapSeek

MapSeek is a travel journal: it records your routes, keeps your photos, notes and places with them, and shows your travels on a map. An optional account adds progress sync and social features: a public profile, following other travellers, a feed and sharing route summaries.

2. Your account

• An account is optional and can only be created with Sign in with Google or Sign in with Apple.
• You must be at least 13, or the minimum age required in your country, to create an account.
• Keep access to your Google or Apple account secure; anyone who can use it can use your MapSeek account. An account can be signed in on one phone at a time.
• Your username, display name and bio must not impersonate anyone, mislead others or be offensive. Usernames are unique and we may require you to change one that breaks these terms.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• break the law, or record or track another person without their consent;
• harass, threaten, spam or impersonate other users, or share content that is unlawful, hateful or sexually explicit;
• send false or manipulated data to our servers, or use the service to compete for rankings or rewards by doing so;
• access the service in automated ways, overload it, try to get around its limits or security, or access other people's accounts;
• copy, modify, reverse engineer or resell the app, except where the law allows it.

4. Your content

You keep all rights to the routes, photos, notes and other content you create. Most of it is stored only on your device; we do not see it and cannot recover it. You are responsible for keeping backups, for example with the app's encrypted backup, which only your backup code can open.

When you share a route summary or fill in your profile, you allow us to store it and show it to other MapSeek users as the app describes, for as long as you keep it shared or keep your account. This permission ends when you remove the share or delete your account.

5. Safety and moderation

You can block and report other accounts in the app. We review reports and may remove a bio, hide content, or suspend or disable an account that breaks these terms, with or without notice where needed to protect others. If you think we made a mistake, contact us.

6. Location, maps and weather

MapSeek relies on your device's location services and on outside map, place-name and weather services. Their data can be inaccurate, incomplete or unavailable. MapSeek is a journal, not a navigation or safety tool: do not rely on it where a wrong location could cause harm, and always follow local laws and use your own judgement, especially while driving.

7. Outside services

Some features use services run by others, including Google, Apple, Mapbox, Stadia Maps, OpenStreetMap Nominatim and Open-Meteo. Their own terms apply to them and we are not responsible for their availability. The app shows the required map attributions.

8. Our rights

The MapSeek name, logo, design and software belong to MBG Studio or its licensors. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the app on devices you own or control, under these terms and the rules of the store you got it from. Map data belongs to its respective providers.

9. Changes and availability

We may change, suspend or end features, including online features, and may require you to update the app to keep using them. We try to keep MapSeek available, but cannot promise it will always work without interruption or errors.

10. Ending your use

You can stop using MapSeek at any time. You can delete your account in the app (Profile, then Account, then Delete account) or as described on the account deletion page. We may suspend or end your account if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms. Sections 4, 8, 11, 12 and 14 continue to apply after your use ends.

11. Disclaimer

MapSeek is free and is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we make no promises about the accuracy of locations, distances, maps, place names or weather, or that your data will never be lost.

12. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, MBG Studio is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for loss of data stored on your device, arising from your use of MapSeek. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or your rights as a consumer under the law of the country where you live.

13. Privacy

How we handle your information is explained in the Privacy Policy.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye, without depriving you of the protection of mandatory laws of the country where you live.

15. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The current version is always on this page with its "Last updated" date. If a change is significant, we may also tell you in the app. Continuing to use MapSeek after a change means you accept the updated terms.
